One of those average life dichotomies is having a Miami-Dade bus stop just around the corner from your home, but knowing a ride will take 1+ hours to/from work, when commuting on your own vehicle would take 40 mins at most.
Yes, that's time on an A/C'd shuttle which could be a blessing when you're guaranteed a seat and (relax?) time to read, think, listen to your fav music or all of the above... But, that's still a solid 2.5 hrs every day riding public transportation. Maybe. Occasionally.
