With my KP61 and the RODSPEED Team @ NUROTAG Miami '13
Last Saturday, Feb. the 23rd was a full day of cars @ the Miami Marlins Stadium parking, for the NUROTAG show.
I participated with my semi-finished '82 Toyota Starlet (a KP61), as part of the RODSPEED team leaded by Rodrigo and Matías. This video is a quick summary I made of the cars in our team and other notorious rides at the show, the Stance trend going strong in the USA, and the obvious effort by each owner behind those rides. My KP61 was featuring a new fender job to fit the 15x7.5" RAYS Gram-Lights wheels in zero offset, with 195/50-15 TOYO R888 race rubber, especially trick in the rear, plus a last-minute dark Blue finish courtesy of unexpected issues, but that will be corrected soon. Last minute added bits were the Carbon Fiber APR Formula GT mirrors, and a JDM "S" type grille I installed just minutes before heading to the show. Soundtrack by David Guetta, featuring Sia: Titanium. All video clips and photos with a Sony ALPHA A99 and Carl Zeiss optics. Hit the link for the Gallery of pictures.

Walking on Sanibel Island beach during Thanksgiving
It definitely was a beautiful day in Naples and Sanibel island to go out walking, enjoying the day!
I tried to reflect part of the experience in a different way than the typical video or slide show of pictures, by capturing a 300+ pictures sequence while walking behind my family, from the parking lot to the beach where we enjoyed part of the sunny but serene afternoon. At an approximate rate of one photograph every 2 seconds, I think it turned out pretty nice...!
As always, the music theme is such an important part of the whole project, so this time I chose the really cool, upbeat "Mr. Saxobeat (Radio edit)" by Alexandra Stan.

The Mazdaspeed3 seems to beat everything in its range
Great video from the website insideline.com, comparing the Mazdaspeed3 against the Hyundai Genesis coupe, in its V6 engine version nonetheless...!
Naturally the comparison isn't exactly Apples-to-Apples, as the Genesis can literally Drift circles around the Mazdaspeed3 thanks to its RWD (the Mazda is FWD), it'll be quicker on a straight line from your typical stop light, and will also stop in a distance 1.5 meters shorter than that from the MS3.
In the end, I share the same viewpoint that driving dynamics and utility are what sway the prize towards the Mazdaspeed, thanks to a quicker reaction through the slalom (6.4 kph faster than the Genesis) and better lateral grip for your all-important cornering. Comments like: " When it comes to handling, the Mazdaspeed3 clearly dominates " and " The Genesis never embarrasses itself, but the Mazda is sharper and more focused " only solidify Mazda's position in the Automotive segment.

Train departing the Akihabara station in Tokyo
Just a brief sample of the unique 60 fps footage straight from my Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX9V camera.
It's not quite the original MTS file without stuttering @ the beginning, but a Re-wrapped version in MP4 format.
I shot it handheld last August in Tokyo, upon arriving in the Akihabara train station with my friends Yerko Galinovic & Manuel Iniesta.
It's incredible how this small and affordable camera can record such fast-paced movement @ Full-HD 1080p, capturing 60-full-frames every second...!

Video in the backyard with the DSC-HX9V
I decided to have a bit of fun with my DSC-HX9V on a PROLINE tripod, shooting @ my home's Patio. Once again I did set my camera to AVCHD, 1080 60p and 28Mbps.
The camera indicated a tripod mount automatically on the display. I used the Tracking Focus feature on a couple clips, and it proved useful mostly for locking on a foreground item, then re-composing and finally deactivating said feature during the shoot, to allow refocusing on a predominant background. This only works when zoomed-in, so one has to step away from the foreground subject.
I re-wrapped the video clips with REMUX to m4v format (pretty fast and effective I might add), so iMovie '11 could import them. I believe iMovie drops the project and final movie to only 30fps, which is rather painful considering how good the original footage looked when played back with VLC...! The final shots of the Lizard are @ 2m, zoomed all the way in (16x)
